Lisa Miller
Music: Swing, Country, Rockabilly, Country Rock
Alternative Country, Honky Tonk
Way back in '90 I started a band called "Bop Girl Goes Calypso", we played twisted punk versions of Girl Group kinda songs along with Simon & Garfunkel and Nancy Sinatra and tunes I wrote myself...even back then we did a mean version of Ring Of Fire! By '93 I was heading more towards a Rockabilly  format and had a band called Raisin' a Ruckus, where I first met and started playing with my current drummer Steve Aubrey. Eventually that band wanted to head towards a Blues thang and I wanted to play more country music. We broke up and after recovering from a car accident (in which I was told I would never play guitar again!) I pieced together a band with two other women called In Cahoots, with Lynn Conover and Donna Jose. I also re-met Bob Wadle, who has been my bass player ever since. I learned how much I really loved 3 part harmonies, wrote a lot of songs and started thinking about recording again. I started playing happy hours at a little place called The Laurelthirst and had the pleasure of playing with many fine musicians. Billy Kennedy and I started playing together regularly and Kevin Richey said he wanted to produce my album. We headed to the studio and Trailer Park Honey & Other Love Songs was made. Many of the people on that recording , I still play with on occasion, but the band I now play with truly formed out of this recording. We headed to Texas, I wrote a few waltzes and By the time NXNW '98 rolled around Steve quit the band he was in and joined up as an official Honey. Shortly thereafter, we began to record our new album "Lipstick & Beer" which has just been released.

Vykki Vox
Music: Groove/Rock/Funk with a "Hot edgy sound"
Vykki Vox is a powerful Boston-based singer/songwriter with a style all her own.  Vykki puts her "radiant personality and fun into her music", which is evident by her recordings and high energy live performances. While Vox is commanding in formal arenas and has earned kudos for her performances at Boston's Hatch Shell and other amphitheaters and festivals, she is equally unbeatable in the confines of a cozier club atmosphere. Early on in her professional life, Vox found that she enjoys the freedom of performing with a cordless mic. She loves to leave the stage and sing to members of the audience as if they were the only ones at the show. This "whole lotta groove" band has been receiving rave reviews and considerable airplay internationally, and are planning the release of their 3rd CD for May'99. "...a standout for it's enthusiasm, variety and invention...." Paul Robicheau, The Boston Globe - "Song after song rings with a freshness and vitality that is unquestionably the Vykki Vox sound." Douglas Sloan, Metronome Magazine - "...combining sultry soul with powerhouse rock..." Mick Skidmore, Relix Magazine - "...unbridled singing and outstanding showmanship...stunning musicianship, lots of dynamics, a varied approach to songwriting..." Bob Cianci, The River Reporter (NY) -  "...funky and flamenco, sultry and steamy, even Latin and laid back; not to mention just boogying down until the final track rocks loudly off into the sunset." Chuck Ginsberg, Spotlight -  "Vox is one of Boston's newest vocal sensations...one of the area's most talented female vocalists...Vykki Vox has arrived." Matt Bowman, Northeast Performer

Brenda Burns
Music: R&B, Blues, Pop, Rock, Country
The original compositions of  Brenda Burns have been covered by Maria Muldaur (Finally Made Love to A Man -Warner Bros.), the late Dottie West (Lady Blonde and Fair - Premium/RCA), Tricia Johns (I Just Want Love - Electra) and various artists throughout the U.S.  Her composition Was it You was prominently featured in the MGM/UA film "Blueberry Hill". Because of lyrics that come straight from her heart and performances that come straight from her soul, nobody drives the material home like the composer. The pure class of  Brenda Burns' vocals, her warm and soulful style, her own guitar and keyboard playing in combination with the excellent musicians with whom she surrounds herself are all the best possible vehicles for her hypnotic songs. A Brenda Burns performance, be it live or recorded is a seamless combination of  Rockin' Rhythm & Blues, Sultry Jazz and Southern-Style musical ingredients. Her debut solo CD "A Song Away From You" is a prime example of the multi-talented dynamo we have come to know as Brenda Burns.
